Deformation & Wear analysis

By comparing a point cloud or mesh model obtained from 3D laser scanning and/or CMM measurements to an existing CAD model or previously conducted scan data we are able to create deviation (color) maps as well as conduct other deformation and wear analyses. This is commonly used in many heavy industries to investigate deformation and wear in critical components. By taking several 3D laser scans and/or CMM measurements over a duration of time we are able to also systematically monitor and track changes in the dimension or shape of an object to further analyze for deformation and wear from factors such as environmental stress. Depending on the project, deformation and wear analysis through 3D laser scanning and CMM measurements can be tailored to the specific requirements of the client.
